Business Development Manager to join a growing team. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for landscaping, strong business acumen, and expertise in design, construction and maintenance services. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving business growth, expanding client base, and developing long-lasting relationships within the industry. You will leverage your knowledge of landscape design and maintenance to help clients create distinctive outdoor spaces.
Key Responsibilities: - Business Development: Identify, prospect, and pursue new business opportunities with a focus on “high-end” residential and commercial clients.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, contractors, architects, designers, developers, property managers and homeowners to drive new, repeat & referral business.
- Market Research & Strategy: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activities, and market demands to develop effective sales strategies and expand market presence.
- Project Coordination: Work closely with internal design and construction teams to ensure seamless communication and execution of projects. Assist clients in understanding the design & construction process and how hardscapes, specific desert plants and trees can enhance their landscapes.
- Proposal & Contract Negotiation: Work with General Manager, Designers & Project Managers on proposals, bids, and contracts. Negotiate terms and pricing with clients, ensuring alignment with business objectives and profitability.
- Networking & Industry Events: Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and local networking opportunities to build brand visibility and foster new business relationships.
Qualifications and Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Business Administration or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development or sales, with at least 2 years in the landscape construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of desert plants and trees, landscape design principles, and sustainable landscaping practices is preferred but not necessary.
- Proven track record of successfully generating leads, securing contracts, and driving business growth.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to understand and explain design concepts to clients and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of industry software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar tools) is a plus.
- Experience within the Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, AZ market highly desired.
- Client-focused with a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Innovative and creative thinking with a passion for sales.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Motivated self-starter with a goal-oriented mindset and a passion for business development.
Compensation: - $50,000 - $60,000 base + performance-based incentives / commision. Realistic on target earnings $100,000+
