Director of Communications
Status: Full-Time with benefits, exempt

This is an in-office position. Salary range: $55 - $70k
Agape Flights is a Christian aviation ministry, delivering cargo, mail and humanitarian aid to hundreds of missionary families in Haiti, the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas. In a world where resources are few and the infrastructure is sparse, Agape Flights' timely deliveries of mail and supplies are vital to sustain missionary families and their ministries.
The Director of Communications is a key part of Agape's Executive Leadership team, working to set the tone for messaging and portray the Core Values of Agape Flights. This role is responsible for managing all communication plan activities, including website, print and digital communications for the organization. S/he will collaborate with the CEO and senior leadership to develop communication strategies to broaden reach and deepen impact across all channels of communication. Responsibilities include serving as the lead for website creation and management, media relations, layout and production of Agape's quarterly newsletter, as well as other communications projects in print, email, social media and video. The Director of Communications also serves as Agape's IT liaison.
:
· Designs and maintains Agape's website.
· Maintains Agape Flights social media feeds with accurate and timely information.
· Curates and produces content for all Agape Flights communications channels.
· Creates, updates and maintains inventory of Agape Flights promotional materials.
· Provides visually appealing design and layout of quarterly newsletter, Flightline.
· Manage media relations by cultivating relationships with journalists and proactively pitching stories.
· Create engaging content for press releases, articles, speeches, and other communication materials.
Shoots and edits photographs and video for social media and other uses.
Coordinates production of printed materials used in donor and missionary communications.
· Produces event related printing, acknowledgement signs, plaques, letters, gifts, etc., for churches, donors and business partners.
· Serves as the password manager and primary liaison to Agape's IT provider.
Required:
· Track record of creating compelling content for church, school, business, or nonprofit
· Proficient in website design, implementation and maintenance.
· Proficient in Adobe InDesign
· Ability to shoot and edit photos and video
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Outlook
· Detail-oriented and able to track on multiple projects
· Associate degree and/or a combination of experience in lieu of degree
· Willing to travel to 2-3 times per year to experience and document front-line missions work
· Is compelled by the love of Christ with passion, integrity and commitment to serve missionaries and donors
· Is a strong independent worker who also values team collaboration
· Is a quick-learner who isn't afraid to try new things
· Is willing to work alongside staff and volunteers for extended hours during times of disaster response
Preferred:
· At least 2 years in media, public relations, or corporate communications
· Experience with email templates or website content management systems
· Company, church, school or nonprofit social media management
· Original graphic design experience
