Job Description
Join our team at UPMC Kane as a Full-Time Medical Assistant and make a meaningful impact every day! This role offers varied hours between 8 AM and 6 PM-no weekends or holidays-giving you work-life balance while supporting multiple departments in a growing practice. You'll play a vital role in both clinical and administrative functions, assisting patients and providers across our clinics and rehab department with occasional travel required. In this role, there is opportunity to -
+ Organize daily schedules and manage patient flow efficiently.
+ Escort patients to exam rooms and assist with mobility, transfers, and preparation for exams.
+ Collect patient histories, take vitals, and perform screenings per provider guidelines.
+ Prepare exam rooms, instruments, and equipment; maintain cleanliness and infection control standards.
+ Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and basic lab tests; assist providers with procedures.
+ Document patient information accurately in electronic medical records.
+ Coordinate front-office tasks: schedule appointments, verify insurance, and manage charts.
+ Communicate with patients and families, providing instructions and education as directed.
+ Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and other regulatory standards; maintain confidentiality.
+ Administer injectable medications and vaccines under physician supervision.
Required
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic and treatment room responsibilities.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

Act 31 Mandated Reporter Training within 90 days of hire or transfer
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
+ Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
+ Act 33 with renewal
+ Act 34 with renewal
+ Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
