Plant Manager 

Fast Track to a Director of Operations position

They are a $500M division of a $8B company and are known as the industry leader. This division manufactures capital equipment that is sold and distributed to hundreds of customers across the country. Built on a century of innovation and excellence, they are committed to maintaining their industry leadership through operational excellence and strategic growth.

Opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Plant Manager to direct a 2-shift, non-union operation that manufactures capital equipment. This is a pivotal role designed to cultivate high-potential leaders for advancement to a Director of Operations position. The successful candidate will oversee all facets of plant operations, driving continuous improvement, ensuring operational efficiency, and fostering a culture of excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute strategic operational plans to achieve and exceed production targets, quality standards, and safety objectives.
  • Operational Excellence: Lead and manage a 2-shift operation with 120+ employees, ensuring optimal resource utilization and process efficiency.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion and implement Lean/Continuous Improvement initiatives, driving measurable improvements in productivity, cost reduction, and waste elimination.
  • Team Development: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
  • Financial Management: Oversee the plant's P&L, develop and manage budgets, and ensure financial performance aligns with company objectives.
  • Executive Communication: Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports and presentations to executive leadership, providing insights into operational performance and strategic initiatives.
  • Community Engagement: Represent the company in the local community, building and maintaining positive relationships.
  • Talent Development: Actively participate in the company's talent development process and be a candidate for promotion to a Director of Operations position.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in plant management or operations leadership within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of implementing and driving successful Lean/Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and P&L.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to relocate.
  • Demonstrated potential for advancement to a Director of Operations role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Six Sigma or Lean certification.
  • Experience within the large capital equipment manufacturing industry.

Compensation and Benefits:
