Job Description
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible to manage all aspects of Wood Fabrication which includes the following operations: CNC Router, Wood Mill, Subassembly, Final Assembly, Stain and Finishing. Must have working knowledge in furniture manufacturing or cabinet manufacturing. Has the ability to manage materials flow and to maintain control and accuracy over all goods inventories, including all transactions to ensure that customer orders are fulfilled on time. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Reviews work orders to plan production schedules. - Meet daily production requirements while maintaining consistent and high quality product standards. - Assign production schedules personnel. - Must be able to read blueprints. - Manage departmental raw material requirements for accurate inventory levels, along with defining Kanban levels. - Participate on the Value Engineering Team along with suggestions to improve manufacturing processes. - Define and correct cultural problems as they exist to achieve product quality. - Define labor accuracy and labor standards for the Wood Department. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES: - Maintain and provide current understanding of industry best practices and technology trends. - Identify tools, processes and metrics to optimize production. - Leads by example and motivates people so as to create a challenging, empowering, and collaborative working environment. - Good technical writing, documentation, and record keeping skills. - Good analytical problem solving ability. - Ability to contribute in a cross functional collaborative environment.
REQUIREMENTS: - At least 10 years' experience in the supervision of wood manufacturing within a design and manufacturing environment. - Experience in total quality, or other similar environments. - Working knowledge and understanding of ERP/MRP systems and their use in a manufacturing environment. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint. - Ability to demonstrate solid written and oral communication skills. - Must be bilingual.
