Medvacon Life Sciences is a consulting firm specializing in quality, compliance, and workforce development for the life sciences industry. As a New Jersey State-certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Small Business Entity (SBE), Medvacon provides solutions that help clients navigate complex regulatory requirements and ensure adherence to industry standards. We assist federal contractors with hiring, training, and development related to SAM.gov opportunities. Medvacon is registered in SAM.gov as an SBE and is committed to leveraging its expertise in small business set-asides and subcontracting to support the growth of our business and our partners.

Position Overview: We are seeking a part-time SAM.gov expert to help Medvacon Life Sciences identify and pursue federal contracting opportunities through SAM.gov while leveraging our SBE status. The role will focus on navigating SAM.gov, identifying small business set-aside contracts, and forming strategic subcontracting partnerships with larger companies. Additionally, the consultant will contribute to Medvacon’s ability to provide training and workforce development services tailored to SAM.gov contracting opportunities. While state work (especially through New Jersey’s MBE and SBE certifications) is secondary, it is a consideration, and recruitment and training in the state context may also be a part of the work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • SAM.gov Registration and Compliance:
    • Ensure Medvacon’s SAM.gov registration is accurate, current, and compliant with SBE requirements.
    • Regularly update and optimize Medvacon’s SAM.gov profile to maintain eligibility for small business set-asides and to take full advantage of available federal contracting opportunities.
    • Advise leadership on any changes in SAM.gov policies and federal procurement regulations, ensuring Medvacon stays compliant and competitive.
  • Identify Federal Contract Opportunities:
    • Proactively monitor SAM.gov and other federal procurement portals for small business set-aside contracts and opportunities within Medvacon's core service areas.
    • Focus on identifying quality and compliance contracts, particularly those in the life sciences sector, and those that align with Medvacon's capabilities and SBE status.
    • Provide regular updates to leadership on relevant opportunities and help prioritize bids based on company goals.
  • Subcontracting Opportunities and Partnerships:
    • Identify subcontracting opportunities with larger prime contractors, focusing on federal contracts that align with Medvacon’s expertise in quality, compliance, and workforce development.
    • Help develop strategic partnerships with larger federal contractors to position Medvacon as a subcontractor for small business-specific work.
    • Assist with the process of bidding for subcontracting opportunities and ensure compliance with small business goals set by prime contractors.
  • Training, Hiring, and Workforce Development Services:
    • Provide training and development support for businesses navigating the SAM.gov contracting process, focusing on compliance, federal registration, and workforce readiness.
    • Help federal contractors or organizations seeking small business partners with hiring and workforce development strategies, ensuring they meet the necessary qualifications and compliance standards.
    • Assist with recruitment related to SAM.gov opportunities, ensuring the workforce is prepared for contracting work in the life sciences and compliance sectors.
    • Contribute to the creation of training programs or workshops that enhance understanding of federal procurement processes and compliance.
  • State-Level Contracting (Secondary Focus):
    • Explore state-level opportunities through New Jersey’s MBE and SBE certifications, though these opportunities are secondary to federal work.
    • Analyze and evaluate available contracts and explore potential recruitment and training opportunities related to New Jersey state contracts.
    • Provide insight into any relevant state contracting opportunities that align with Medvacon’s capabilities in quality, compliance, and workforce development.
  • Proposal Development and Submission:
    • Collaborate with internal teams to develop competitive proposals for federal contracts and subcontracting opportunities, ensuring compliance with SAM.gov guidelines.
    • Provide support in preparing proposals for SBE set asides and other relevant federal procurement programs, ensuring all eligibility and compliance requirements are met.
    • Assist with submission processes to ensure timely and accurate proposals.
  • Reporting and Updates:
    • Provide regular reports on SAM.gov activities, federal contracting opportunities, and subcontracting progress.
    • Keep leadership informed on the status of proposal submissions, compliance activities, and any additional opportunities for workforce development or recruitment related to SAM.gov projects.
Qualifications:
  • Proven expertise in SAM.gov and federal procurement, with a strong understanding of small business set-asides and SBE compliance.
  • Experience in identifying and pursuing subcontracting opportunities with large contractors, particularly for federal contracts.
  • Knowledge and experience in training and workforce development services, particularly in the context of SAM.gov and federal contracting.
  • Ability to help businesses develop recruitment and training programs related to SAM.gov opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of federal procurement regulations and experience navigating SAM.gov compliance processes.
  • Experience in life sciences, quality, and compliance consulting is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with state contracting opportunities (especially in New Jersey) is a plus but not essential.
  • Strong research, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Compensation based on education and experience. Total compensation includes base + uncapped commission.
