Position: Senior Accountant
Job type: Potential contract-to-hire
Location: Chelsea (hybrid required)
Start date:  mid- to late-January

In this role, you'll play a key part in maintaining our financial health of the organization. You'll report directly to the Controller and supervise a junior staff .

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger.
• Assist with month-end close procedures and financial reporting.
• Analyze financial data and prepare reports for management.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records according to GAAP standards.
• Support the Controller with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 501(c)(3) nonprofit experience is required.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in a similar role (more is a plus!).
• Experience with NetSuite accounting software is preferred.
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in a fast-paced environment is a plus.
