This position serves our partners at the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) within the Department of Public Safety (DPS). MNIT BCA provides comprehensive IT operations and support services, custom application development, and dedicated business-specific support functions for investigative and specialized law enforcement services. You will support an agency that partners with law enforcement, public safety, and criminal justice agencies to prevent and solve crimes. As a Software Developer, you will be responsible for debugging and implementing criminal justice information applications and integrations for the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) in the Minnesota Justice Information Services (MNJIS) department that are critical to ensuring the safety of all Minnesotans. You will provide input and participate in legacy applications and database debugging, including the triage of logical and physical data models, and provide technical knowledge in the development of web based applications, middleware applications, web services, and message brokers. Additionally, this position provides ongoing support for applications by defining, documenting, and implementing solutions for new requirements and feature requests. This position frequently works with other technical staff, business staff and vendors to implement solutions to meet BCA goals and objectives. This position requires an employee to be onsite at¿1430 Maryland Ave E, St Paul, Minnesota at least 50% of the time, with some opportunity to perform work from a telework location. Telework for Minnesota IT Services is available on a limited basis. Employees will be required to meet current telework eligibility requirements.
