**Cognizant is seeking a Splunk Observability SME for a full time remote opportunity.** **Applications must be authorized to work in the US.** **_Please note, this role is not able to offer visa transfer or sponsorship now or in the future_** **_The salary range for this role is between $91,000 and $107,000. Applications will be accepted till 12/06/2025._** **Responsibilities:** · Tool Implementation & Management: · Lead the deployment, configuration, and ongoing management of observability platforms (e.g., Splunk, Datadog, Prometheus) and vulnerability management tools (e.g., Qualys, Nessus, Rapid7). · Technical Expertise: · Serve as the primary subject matter expert for observability and vulnerability tools. Advise on tool selection, integration, and optimization to meet organizational needs. · Monitoring & Alerting: · Design and maintain dashboards, alerts, and reports that enable proactive detection of performance issues, outages, and security vulnerabilities. · Incident Response: · Collaborate with IT, security, and operations teams to investigate and remediate incidents identified through observability and vulnerability tools. · Process Improvement: · Continuously evaluate and enhance monitoring and vulnerability management processes, recommending automation and new capabilities where appropriate. · Training & Documentation: · Develop and deliver training sessions for stakeholders. Maintain comprehensive documentation for tool usage, procedures, and troubleshooting. · Compliance & Reporting: · Support regulatory and internal compliance initiatives by ensuring proper tool configuration, data retention, and reporting. · Communicate technical concepts and findings to non-technical stakeholders. Provide recommendations for risk mitigation and performance improvement. **Qualifications:** · Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience). · 5+ years of experience in observability, monitoring, or vulnerability management within enterprise IT environments. · Expert knowledge of observability tools (e.g., Splunk, Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus) and vulnerability management solutions (e.g., Qualys, Nessus, Rapid7). · Strong understanding of security frameworks, compliance requirements, and IT operations best practices. · Experience integrating monitoring and vulnerability tools with cloud (, Azure, GCP) and on-premises systems. · Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. · Strong communication and documentation abilities. · Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, Certified Security, Splunk Certified) are highly desirable.
