Job Summary
The Director of Public Safety is responsible for the strategic planning, development, and implementation of safety and security programs to protect patients, staff, visitors, and assets within the healthcare facility. This role ensures compliance with regulations and standards, conducts risk assessments, and manages emergency preparedness and response efforts.
Role Accountabilities Include
Develop and implement comprehensive safety and security policies and procedures to protect patients, staff, visitors, and property.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and accreditation standards related to healthcare safety and security.
Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement corrective actions.
Oversee the development and execution of emergency preparedness plans, including disaster response, evacuation procedures, and crisis management.
Coordinate with local law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency services to ensure a coordinated response to incidents.
Manage security technology systems, including surveillance cameras, access control systems, and alarm systems.
Monitor and analyze safety and security incident reports, and develop strategies to mitigate future risks.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 7-10+ years of experience in public safety, security management, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a healthcare setting including 3-5 years of management experience.
Salary Range: Minimum $125,000 per year - Maximum $165,000 per year. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
